Shalom, everyone! The following is Part 3A – “Noah’s Flaws” from the lecture series “Shem in the Land of Africa,” by renown educator Rabbi Akwetey Amaah. In this installment discusses Noah‘s flaws:
- It seems as if Noah only went into the Ark because of the flood waters, not because Yah ordered him to do so (Genesis 7:1 – 6);
- Noah and his family did not leave the Ark in the order that Yah ordered them to do (Genesis 8:16 – 18);
- Noah did not take the initiative to tell people to repent nor does he beg for mercy on their behalf; he merely built the Ark, knowing that Yah was going to destroy the world anyway;
- Noah became a drunk after the Flood, which would, unfortunately, culminate in him pronouncing a curse on one of his grandsons, Cana’an.
